My friend is an angler, at least that’s what he daydreams about, on a monday thru Friday he fixes PCs and performs an excellent job and has a perfect reputation. If I have a PC dilemma, Jody is the one I reach for and no matter how challenging or complex the problem, give him some leeway and he’ll find a way out. He told me something alarming last night, it seems that a large percentage of the home computers he fixes have spyware or adware on their systems, and most his customers are ignorant of it; e-mailing him when their machines slow or stall.
The world wide web is similar to a living, breathing being frequently evolving, and sometimes not in a positive road, though it certainly has given me opportunities. As the calendar turns and technology moves forward, so too does spyware. It is critical in today’s environment to have Spyware Removal software installed and to schedule scans on a regualr basis; just as important is running software updates, because what worked previoulsy could jump over a new type ofvirus or spywarecoded today.
As research for this musing (using a separate and clean system) I performed a test, uninstalling my spyware removal software then visiting several auto surf sites. These exchanges are perfect for new marketers, allowing them the opportunity to send traffic to selected sites, simply by their at other relevant sites. The operation is performed this way:
The surfer is shown a site at random (usually category specific) and credits are debited to his/her account The credits are assigned to a site you want to promote. when others follow the same process, the site you want to promote is shown. The system is designed so everyone gets a look at someone elses site.
In theory this is a beautiful plan, however a few (not all) of these traffic exchanges are either owned by or frequented by people with dishonesty on their mind. The goal is not to simply display their offer or website, but to send spyway to your PC. And today much of this spyware is intelligient enough to trigger the download of spyware/adware onto your PC, simply by visiting their website. I’m not knocking these sites or telling you not to use them, I am recommending prudence and recommending you be convinced your PC is safe.
If you’re reading this, statistics say you may already have or will certainly run into spyware or adware. If you’re thinking, well I don’t download movies or music and I definetely never download tainted programs, then pat yourself on the back, but you are still need to be prepared. Take the safety measure. To quote the old warning…
’an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’
Nowhere is that truer than with the important data on your PC. A lot of what is on your hard drive, either from a business or personal reasons; think of getting up to discover all your details erased. Alarming, utterly… Possible?… Yes it could. Stoppable? Yes by using the most highly rated spyware removal tools.
Now that I have your attention, perhaps you’re wondering what exactly will spyware and adware do to my small network. Good, glad to see you’re concerned. Mostly spyware/adware/malware are not are not created to ruin your system, rather to report your surfing habits. Mostly they collect data then report back to some guy in a dark room; they might display advertisements and in most cases probably will stifle your system, slow your CPU speed and decrease your connection speed to the world wide web. It’s not so much the damage done, but the fact that your life, your privacy, your system has been breached and these people (whomever they are) have no right to be there.
I’m very grateful there are intelligent people that feel precisely the same way I feel; they want to not take this lying down. I’m not a programmer, My skill is writing, and I offer these thoughts to give advance warning and recommend you take precautions and shield your network. I thank those defenders of safe browsing with the intelligence and spirit to code then offer for public use these spyware/adware removal tools.
Once you decide on one of the spyware/malware removal tools to install, I’d recommend frequent scans of your network. When the automatic features of the program are used, most of the scans are done automatically, and most likely while you’re asleep.
